About
Peter is an Associate Professor in Counselling within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at EIT in the wine producing area of Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand. Prior to his appointment in 2007 Peter was a school counsellor and director of a student services centre in a large multicultural secondary school in South Auckland and a held an academic post in the masters counselling programme at the University of Auckland. Much of his earlier career was spent teaching Drama and English in the UK. His publications and research reflect a growing interest in counselling, spirituality and consciousness, the management of loss, trauma and post-traumatic growth and adolescent risk-taking.
